ABOUT DR. KALACI

Hello! I am Dr. Kalaci (pronounced Kah-lah-tsee).

Vancouver has been my home for the past 9 years. I am a highly-trained, board-certified general pediatrician.

I am a Clinical Instructor for the UBC Department of Medicine, teaching medical students and resident doctors.

I also serve as President for the

BC Pediatric Society.

MY BACKGROUND

Current Employment:

I am currently employed at the BC Women’s Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as a Pediatrician Clinical Associate.

When I am not in the NICU, I practice in a community clinic where I see a variety of general pediatric patients, from neonates to adolescents.

I am also employed by numerous health authorities where I provide hospital coverage for the nursery and pediatric wards.

2015-2019 Pediatrics Residency – University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC

2011-2015 Medical School – Western University, London, ON

NEONATAL EXPERTISE

Working in the NICU at BC Women's Hospital has made me very comfortable with addressing the needs of term and preterm babies discharged from hospital, including multiples.

ALLERGY CARE FOR CHILDREN

I have a special interest in allergy and keep up-to-date with latest research in the area.

I do allergy testing in my clinic:

  • Skin Testing

  • IgE Testing

  • Oral Challenges

  • Oral Immunotherapy for food allergies in <6 year olds

IMMIGRANT AND GLOBAL HEALTH

My background in global health has given me a unique perspective on the health needs of many immigrant patients.

I do also speak French, Albanian, and some Spanish should these languages be required.
